It has been quite a week for the ocean and its abundant offerings. Not only did it produce for us the Subway Shark seen around the world, it also gave one lucky fisherman a severed foot, complete with size 5 1/2 Adidas ADI Rise 2 shoe!
A fisherman was doing his thing at the beach at Ocean City's Corson’s Inlet State Park Tuesday afternoon when he pulled the petite high-top out of the water, NBC reports. He went on to make the grave mistake of looking inside, and discovered the "skeletal remains" of a human foot.
"Kinda makes you wonder what's going on with the rest of the body," Jamie Pugliese, another fisherman in the area, told the station. He cast a suspicious glance at the ocean over his shoulder. "It's very strange."
The state's medical examiner said the toes were adorned with colored nail polish, though it was not possible to determine the age nor the gender of the foot's owner.
