The bodies of a father and his son were discovered in an apartment in the Parkchester section of the Bronx last night. Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call about an unconscious person in the Beach Avenue apartment and found Joseph Valerio Sr., 85, and Joseph Valerio Jr., 46.
Apparently Valerio Sr. had been taking care of his son, who "suffered from diminished mental capacity." The investigation is continuing, but there were reportedly no signs of forced entry or foul play. It's believed that Valerio Sr. died from natural causes and his son died from lack of care.
