Things Eliot Spitzer, ex-Governor and current CNN-er, doesn't want to talk about with journalists? What he fantasizes about and his political ambitions. We know this because client number nine sat down for a chat with the Times Magazine this week and right off the bat made his feelings clear.
Asked if he ever fantasizes about being President the Spitz snapped "I don’t talk to journalists about what I fantasize about." He did, however, admit to fantasizing about beating American Idol (which he calls "a great show") in the ratings. Which is less likely than him ever becoming president.
And while he doesn't laugh about his prostitution scandal, Spitzer's ok with the fact that others may need or want to ("It makes others feel more comfortable, I think, when they can laugh and see that it is not an issue that can never be raised.") and he can be very forgiving—in public at least—of those who worked to get him out of Albany.
Also? If he is considering a 2013 run for mayor Spitzer is playing his cards very close to his chest. Asked about it he said that "the only thing I can say is that I have not thought for a millisecond nor done anything to prepare for any sort of political campaign."
Meanwhile the ratings for the Kathleen Parker-less Spitzer show In the Arena are not exactly burning down the house—but "thanks" to the ongoing disaster in Japan (and Americans tendency to turn to CNN for the kind of reporting that sort of story requires) last Friday Spitzer did beat Bill O'Reilly.
