Queens State Assemblywoman Grace Meng is one of many officials who have demanded an apology from Rush Limbaugh for his bizarre mockery of Hu Jintao and Chinese people in general. You'll recall that Limbaugh was highly suspicious of Hu's speech during his joint press conference with President Obama last week, because there was no simultaneous translation. So instead of blaming the media or White House, he blamed Hu for speaking in his native tongue, and went on a mocking fake-Chinese language rant, complete with "ching chong," reminiscent of Rosie O'Donnell. In case you missed it, here's Colbert's take below (it starts around the 40 second mark):

Meng, New York's only Asian-American Assemblymember, issued a statement calling on Limbaugh to apologize. She says that in lieu of an apology, she's received death threats and extremely offensive hate mail from people defending Limbaugh. Here's a sample, obtained by The Daily Politics:
Rush does not owe you or anyone else an apology. How about instead of thrying to grab headlines with crap you get out and actually do your job which is helping AMERICANS. Yeah did you forget we still live in this country and you work for us. Anyone who is Asian and has such thin skin when THEY are in OUR country should leave. So here is a suggestion for you. Either get a little thicker skin or take your a-- back to where it is you came from. Back to your ancestry that you think we are picking on. Ching chong, chang!
So yeah, just in case you'd somehow momentarily forgotten, ignorant troglodytes like this are still roaming around out there, consuming their excessive share of what's left of the planet's dwindling resources. You might not encounter them much in liberal NYC, but they're all too real—and the way the electoral college works, their vote probably counts more than yours!
