A U-Haul van driver fatally struck a cyclist in the Bronx yesterday. Police say the van driver and the 43-year-old male cyclist collided at the intersection of 158th Street and the Grand Concourse shortly before 5:15 p.m.
The Post reports that the cyclist was struck while biking in the Concourse's southbound lane. He was bleeding heavily from the head when emergency responders arrived on the scene, and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Lincoln Hospital.

Witness Jesse Poppick told the News, "His bike was still in the intersection. He must have been thrown from it. He was lying at least 20 feet from his bike."
The U-Haul driver, a 24-year-old male, stayed on the scene. An NYPD spokesman said this morning that the driver had the right of way, and no criminality is suspected. The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
