The NYPD is getting an early start cracking down on this summer's loudest parties, reports the Post. Canarsie's 69th precinct has already sent out emails to residents, asking them to report any "flyers for house parties or backyard parties in our neighborhood." The email is part of a larger initiative of cops trying to narrow in on drug use and stolen cars.

Any reports of loud noise or trouble are monitored on a case by case basis, and Captain Milt Marmara says that it's an ongoing attempt to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood. Sound permits will not be issued to residential neighborhoods, and amplified speakers won't be authorized for public use.

The emails goes on to say that residents should report any "illegal social clubs, converted garages where they are drinking, backyard or community driveway pay parties, unlicensed basement clubs, locations where they have parties every weekend," which makes us wonder: could Canarsie have actual speakeasies? Be still our hearts.
