Last night at around 6 p.m., a car jumped a curb at 8th Avenue and West 51st Street in Manhattan—and the car hit a person.
According to the Post, a deli worker who was working at the flower stand was seriously injured: "The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital... The unidentified driver was treated for minor injuries at Roosevelt Hospital." The flower stand was also "smashed to pieces."
Witnesses told WCBS 2 that it would have been worse if more pedestrians were on the street—it is a very busy intersection. We've contacted the NYPD to see if there was more information about the incident.
