A student at Lincoln High School in Coney Island was arrested yesterday after he allegedly made a series of threats against the school on Facebook earlier in the week. The 15-year-old boy, whose name is being withheld, was arrested after a friend warned him that making threats would get him in trouble.

The threats on Facebook have already been taken down but reportedly included bringing a gun to school. The News reprots that "counter terrorism investigators found no evidence that he was in possession of bomb-making materials," and the boys case has been referred to Family Court.

According to the Department of Education the school was never in danger and was at no point searched or evacuated. Still, the arrest makes some sense in the wake of the recent shooting at Chardon High School in Ohio. Better safe than sorry.
