With General Manager Theo Epstein having jumped ship for the woeful Chicago Cubs, the Red Sox have completely imploded since they collapsed down the stretch of this past season. With everyone in Boston collectively freaking out all at once, the team looks set for a complete overhaul. It's so bad, David Ortiz, one of their biggest sluggers of the past decade, is fed up with all the drama...and thinking outloud about the possibility of joining the Yankees.

When asked by ESPN if he would consider playing for the Yankees, Ortiz answered, "That's something I gotta think about. I've been here on the Red Sox a long time, and I've seen how everything goes down between these two ballclubs." Ortiz, a seven-time All-Star, has won two World Series with the Sox, and just had one of the best seasons ever for a designated hitter at his age.

And apparently, he thinks life might be simpler on the Yanks: "It's great [playing on the Yankees] from what I hear. It's a good situation to be involved in. Who doesn't want to be involved in a great situation where everything goes the right way?" Uh...maybe Ortiz should talk to A-Rod before he starts getting all googly-eyed and romantic about playing here. And none of us have forgotten the last time he tried on a Yankees hat (see video below). Then again, what would be better for Yankee morale than grabbing yet another quintessential Red Sox player?
