An 89-year-old woman was attacked and killed Sunday night at a Brooklyn nursing home and rehabilitation center, police said.

NYPD officials said Nina Kravtsov was found with head trauma around 10:30 p.m. when officers responded to a 911 call about an assault inside the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on West 29th Street and Surf Avenue in Coney Island. She was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn, where she was pronounced dead.

Officials said Kravtsov was hit in the head with an unidentified object, but they were still looking into the circumstances and who was responsible. They said she lived at the center.

The city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was also investigating to determine Kravtsov's exact cause of death.

The center did not immediately return a request for comment Monday.
