A 75-year-old Bronx man was found beaten to death in his apartment yesterday, with a strange message written across his chest in lipstick. After he hadn't been seen for days, neighbors went to check on Joe Fisher in his apartment at 1265 Walton Avenue when they found him lying on the floor. "Who's bitch now?" was written in red lipstick across his chest.
Fisher, who lived in the building for more than 30 years, worked as a handyman and painter; neighbors said he had survived three heart attacks, and was very popular in the building. “He was a nice man, you know, didn’t hurt anybody,” one 46-year-old neighbor told the News. “Whoever did it must have been evil.” Another told CBS he was really popular "because of his personality, he was a good, cool guy.”
Fisher, who had a son and daughter, suffered severe head and body trauma, but the cause of death hasn't been determined yet. No arrests have been made.
