A 16-year-old boy was killed and two other teenagers were wounded in a shooting near Broadway and West 238th Street in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

Police said officers responded around 5:10 p.m. to a 911 call about multiple people shot near the busy Kingsbridge intersection.

When officers arrived, they found 16-year-old Christopher Redding with a gunshot wound to his back, a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his right leg and a 13-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to her right leg, police said.

Emergency medical crews took all three to St. Barnabas Hospital, where authorities said Redding was pronounced dead.

The other two teens were listed in stable condition, officials said.

Police said Redding lived in Mount Eden, about 3 miles from where he was shot.

The NYPD did not immediately provide information about a suspect or what may have led to the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
