And just like that the winning streak is over. The Knicks didn’t just lose on Sunday they were humiliated. Atrocious defense, poor rebounding and lousy free throw shooting all played a part in Toronto’s 129-103 victory.
Toronto scored the most points in franchise history while shooting an astounding 59% from the field. The Raptors took control of the game early, taking a 13-point lead at halftime and effectively ending the game in the third quarter. Despite trying many different defensive matchups, the Knicks couldn’t stop Jalen Rose or Morris Peterson who combined for 59 points.
Was this game a bump in the road, or does it signify that the Knicks are reverting back to their losing ways? We should find out quickly as the Timberwolves and Kevin Garnett come to town today for a matinee game at the Garden.
