When we hear the word "resin" the first thing that comes to our mind isn't beer, it's the sticky stuff that constantly clogs up our "friend's" marijuana paraphernalia. But perhaps that is about to change? And if it is, local brewery SixPoint's latest year-round brew, Resin, should help.
The dark amber, 9.1 % ABV, tipple—which has been trickling out since last month—embraces the resin-y nature of hops buds for a brew that Beer Advocate readers, at least, are liking quite a bit. Even if they don't love the "Red Bull" 12 oz. skinny can. This is a full-bodied, pretty brew. Plus, as one puts it, "potheads are going to love this beer, they think you've just written them a love letter when you name a beer Resin. I get it because I'm a hophead, but the cannabis culture will embrace this green can, then they'll turn it into a smoking piece. Reduce, reuse, recycle."
