If you got a sweet tax return this year, you could spend it on a rocking pair of animal print meggings for the ladies. Or, you could take a class on baking vegan donuts, Cinnamon Snail-style: Adam Sobel, the baking brains behind this Vendy Award-winning (and one of Gothamist's favorites!) restaurant on wheels is offering an upcoming course on donut baking, and he promises to teach you all the mystical secrets of Vanilla Bourbon Crème Brûlée.
The course is a one-time deal, held at the Institute of Culinary Education in Gramercy. It runs for four hours, costs $120 per person and focuses on the art of crafting good donuts. Sobel will teach you how to mold a melt-in-your-mouth Meyer lemon-glazed pear fritter, chocolate cake donuts, black tea twists and other famed Cinnamon Snail creations.
Sobel's holding two sessions, one on May 18th at 6 p.m. and one on August 18th at 10 a.m. And if you've been fortunate enough to attend one of Momofuku Milk Bar's baking classes, well, you might just have yourself a bakery one day. Remember to drop off some of your baked goods at Gothamist's infamous Silver Table of Sin, to help destroy the hopes, dreams and waistlines of hungry bloggers galore.
