Ever wonder what it would be like to eat the last dinner served on the Titanic? Well, you don't have to wonder anymore! Next month a group, including Jonathan Cristaldi (who you might remember from that luncheon on the L train), is hosting a dinner called 41°North, 49°West (a.k.a. the coordinates where the great ship went down to the bottom of the sea). The food, based on the menu served on the ship April 14, 1912, will be whipped up by chefs Adam Banks (sous chef and sommelier on Bravo’s Chef Roblé & Co.) and Rob McCue (Hell’s Kitchen Season 8 contestant). Could be tragically tasty!

Before you get super excited though, we should note that the dinner (scheduled for the 100th anniversary of the ship sinking, April 14, 2012) isn't serving the exact same menu that was originally served on the big boat. That meal was ten courses while this one is seven. For the modern take the team has combined some of the courses for the following menu: "Oysters, Consomme Olga (made from sturgeon bone marrow), Salmon, Filet Mignon, Foie Gras, Punch Romaine (booze course), Squab and Asparagus and Waldorf Pudding."

And be warned: tasting a bit of the past doesn't come cheap. The event has 60 $300 "First Class" tickets and 20 $450 "VIP Elite Class" tickets available (you can sign up to try reserve a spot here). Also, for the record, they will not be showing Titanic 3D on this outing. Meanwhile, if you want a headstart, you can peruse the ship's last lunch menu here.
