On Monday, the folks over at Tribeca taverna Locanda Verde are hosting their semi-annual "black trufflepalooza," dubbed AC/BT. The 3-course black truffle menu runs $70 a head; you can make a reservation by calling the restaurant.
Head to the West Village on Wednesday for Blind Tiger Ale House's "Borough Beer Fest," an election party of sorts in honor of Mayor de Blasio. Take your pick of brews from all over the five boroughs, including Single Cut beers from Queens and Bronx Brewery ales representing, well, the Bronx. Beers are pay-as-you-go, but the event is free to attend; it kicks off at 3 p.m..
Also on Wednesday, Famed Fatty Crab/Fatty Cue chef Zak Pelaccio will be sharing his culinary secrets at 92Y, in conversation with architect Michael Davis. Pelaccio has since turned his efforts towards transforming a 19th century carriage house in Hudson, NY into restaurant Fish and Game; he and Davis will discuss the connection between architecture, space and cooking. The event starts at noon and costs $21 to attend; you can reserve a spot online.
And on Thursday, food blog Sheepshead Bites has teamed up with Il Fornetto and Coney Island Hospital to host A Taste Of Sheepshead Bay. The foodfest will feature tasty offerings of everything from Turkish food to Italian fare, with 20 local restaurants, cafes, bakeries, delis and caterers including il Fornetto Restaurant, T&D Bakery and Wheeler’s Restaurant & Bar set to participate. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus-operated Baron DeKalb venue; tickets are $30 and can be purchased online.
