Up next in Hollywood-related food news, Upper West Side eatery and You've Got Mail locale Cafe Lalo is being sued for $26 million, over claims that manager Daniel Reyes sexually harassed over a dozen female employees.
The suit is reportedly being filed on behalf of 13 former waitresses, who allege Reyes "treats the restaurant as his own personal dating service and a place where he could indulge in his unwholesome desires." The suit claims Reyes would show up drunk to work, made "gestures with sexual implications," and verbally attacked waitresses who rejected him, calling one a "f---ing b--ch" and threatening to kill another with a knife.
The suit also alleges that employees were underpaid by owner Haim Lalo. A lawyer for the cafe told the Post that there was "no merit" to the suit.
