Crains reports that the bar filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month, the second such filing in the last five years. And while giving away the bar for $10 seems the likely culprit, the troubles actually stem from a lawsuit regarding the bar's jukebox.
After ditching the live music angle for $2 picklebacks, continental owner Trigger Smith installed a jukebox, which became the target for a subsequent lawsuit to the tune of $49,762.96. Smith says he'll do "everything in [his] power" to keep the cheap booze flowing free; "I love this bar more than anything except for my dog."
