In case you've been living under a shipwreck a rock for the past few weeks or are a barely functioning member of humanity, the Titanic is celebrating its 100-year deathaversary next week. Perhaps you weren't in the market to plunk down $12,500 for Groupon's Titanic vacation package, and maybe you're not quite prepared to drop $450 on a "tragically tasty" recreation of the doomed ship's last meal. But lo, all hope is not lost!

Prime Meats in Carroll Gardens has a less pricey and more festive way for you to be morbid amongst similarly-inclined history buffs: the restaurant is hosting a 10-course, black-tie-optional Titanic-themed dinner on April 17. (Here are some fashion tips for era-appropriate garb.) The meal costs $115, which, while not exactly cheap, isn't outrageous, considering it also includes wine and booze. Consider: if you're invested enough in Titanic anniversary celebrations to consider dressing up and eating things like Consommé Olga, Roast Squab with Watercress Vichyssoise and Waldorf Pudding, why not spend cash like it really is your last night?
