The best way to settle into a new office and endear yourself to your neighbors? Set off the fire alarm! That was apparently Bon Appétit's move yesterday, when a ritual sage burning in their new 1 WTC digs "caused a ruckus" by setting off the fire alarm for an hour, according to Page Six. A simple tray of brownies would have been fine, guys!
A magazine rep declined to comment and Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport denied the entire event, but a now-deleted Tweet by executive editor Christine Muhlke read: "Sage-burning in new WTC offices sets off fire alarm for an hour. #WorthIt" Hopefully that means it calmed some nerves.
In an attempt to distance themselves from #SageGate, Conde Nast sources tell the Post the building has been conducting "regular fire drills," so everyone should just be used to all those alarms by now.
