Yesterday one lucky blogger got to join Chris Nadareski from the NYC DEP as he tagged four (2 male, 2 female) month old peregrine falcons from a 55 Water Street nest. This is where adult falcons Jack and Diane moved into in 1999, though presumably the offspring pictured are Jack and Jill's (Diane is in retirement at Cornell)—read their full story here.

The tags allow the DEP to identify and follow the falcons (sometimes they can get lost during their first flight!). And for even more falcon cuteness, visit yojimbot's flickr, or watch the live falcon cam!
