Right now it's not really winter and it's not really spring, but it is definitely Mad Men season. Matthew Weiner and cast are in town hitting up plenty of events, unveiling statues, and making the press rounds.
We've already listed off the ten feature films that Weiner made everyone involved in the show watch (check those out at the Museum of Moving Image), and now he's selected the essential episodes from the show itself.
The twenty episodes will screen back-to-back at the Film Society at Lincoln Center this Friday (505 minutes) and Saturday (480 minutes). Things kick off with the pilot, of course, which will bring us back 9 years in time to 1960. After that you get about 3 episodes per season, ending up with the last time we saw Don, in "Waterloo."
The show enters its final season on April 5th, and has been on the air for 8 years now, so this will serve as a good refresher (and it's free!).
