When The CW announced its fall lineup this past week, it confirmed it had picked up the series, The Carrie Diaries, based on Candace Bushnell's novel about Carrie Bradshaw's pre-Sex and the City life. We'll have to wait until January to see young Carrie traipsing around 1984 New York City, but here's an early look at the show—check out the Madonna reference!
Warner Bros. seems to be yanking the trailer off Youtube—is it because they misspelled Candace Bushnell's name?
Side note: The actress who plays Carrie, AnnaSophia Robb, is 18-years-old. Back in 1985, Sarah Jessica Parker (the adult Carrie) was 19 or 20 when she filmed Girls Just Wanna Have Fun—check out the trailer, true 80s glam fashion and much more au naturel eyebrows!:
