Tom Hanks, a muppet disguised in a human cocoon, has really been all over NYC in recent weeks: he caught the premiere of Larry David's new play, he reunited with Wilson at a Rangers game, he starred in a Carly Rae Jepsen video, he hogged seats on the subway and defended his right to hog seats on the subway. Hanks has been generous with his time and celebrity, which is why we were very distressed to learn he had lost his credit card the other day. But NYC taketh and it giveth—and Hanks had his faith in humanity or whatever restored thanks to a NYer named Tony.

No, HANX YOU, friendo. For all your beloved movie roles and your good-natured sense of humor and your typewriter fetish and your fanatical support of Girl Scout cookies and the fact that you agreed to star in the worst Coen Brothers movie.
