The real reason a New Yorker should never look up in New York City is because there are mansions you'll never live in up there. Like this one.

They're calling this a penthouse, but let's be real, it's a five-story rooftop mansion in Manhattan. It's got all the makings of a mansion, too: a private library, a spiral staircase, a grand piano, works of art, 19 rooms, views for days, and a bathroom that proves money can't buy taste.

The home is on top of 60 Warren Street, and according to Curbed it's "one of the city's largest, longest-listed apartments." lt just sold, after 9 years on the market, for $24.5 million. The previous owner was Edward Bazinet, who the Observer points out "made his fortune founding and selling a company that manufactured ceramic miniatures." The new buyers are under the name Mavis Skarloey LLC, a reference to Thomas the Tank Engine.
