With foreclosed buildings popping up left and right across the country, what to do? Start squatting, obvs. And would you lookie here, the pop-up Trade School at 32 Prince Street is offering a class on just that subject! Even better the class, like all of the classes at the Trade School, is a barter for instruction deal. The bad news? The class is already maxed out.

Here's the description of the class:

SQUAT THE CONDOS! How to be a counter-culture dilettante. A practical workshop on squatting and direct action that will take us all from curious dilettante to eager amateur. No skills or experience necessary.

“There are number of things to do to establish a presence (start to get mail sent to you at the address, get utilities hooked up in your name, etc),” the classes instructor, Christopher Robbins, tells Brokelyn. “Realistically, I see the class as a way to get some NPR gang into direct action—channel some Abbie Hoffman into 2011.”

We've put in an e-mail to find out if they'll offer a second session (or at least get a few more tips before the class) and in the meantime we leave it to you. Would you squat to get an apartment? Or have you already?
