This Saturday marks Williamsburg's fourth annual Crest Hardware Crest Fest, the kick-off celebration to the six-week Crest Hardware Art Show. The family-run, old-school hardware store is something of a neighborhood institution, and every summer, they turn their space into a temporary gallery for neighborhood artists, who build hardware-inspired pieces you won't find anywhere else.

Crest Fest is a family-friendly, daylong open house with live music from The Suzan, Gunfight!, Emefe and Little Victory, DJ sets by Dom Rocket, King Cut, Nick Catchdubs, Peter Hale, Lucas Walters, Krunk Pony, Synapse, Rok One, and Fat & Ez, food from The Meat Hook, plenty of beer, and a "design market" from local artists. Proceeds from the day will benefit the neighboring City Reliquary museum, a great little outpost for unique New York artifacts and ephemera.

We got a sneak peek at some of this year's art from curator/co-owner Joe Franquinha (son of Manny Franquinha, who opened the store in 1962).
