If you're anything like us, then you too would love nothing more than to die holding the hand of your partner of 67 years. But it's so hard to find other single people to date and ultimately die with! It's not like one can just log onto Tinder, OK Cupid, Hinge, Twitter, Instagram, telephone poles, the NY Post, or every gamer forum on the Internet and just find other single people. Well, we have some news for you: single people are out there in NYC, and there's a map to prove it.

Visualizing NYC has released their latest map charting the roaming habits of single people. Using Census Bureau data, they have constructed a map that breaks down singledom by zip code. They find that "there are absolutely more young, single men than young, single women" in the City (and across America) overall, but they add a big caveat: the single men are not necessarily where you'd think to look.

Or to put it more bluntly: single men have been driven out of Manhattan almost completely. And the same goes for just about every trendy Brooklyn neighborhood—it's all different variations of pink (or perhaps that's purple? We don't understand how color works anymore). Instead, many of the single men in New York City are living in Jackson Heights, Flushing, and Brighton Beach.

You can peruse all the data here. Of course, just being able to spout such information isn't going to suddenly net you someone to take to White Castle every Friday night. But at least it'll disavow you of the belief that you're still single because there's no one to date—it's because of who you are!

Take comfort, because despite all anecdotal evidence that New Yorkers are largely an unloveable neurotic gaggle of contradicting egos who should isolate themselves from the larger population lest they drag other people down into their Vortex Of Needs, some people have been able to find the kind of lasting love we should all be so lucky to experience in our lives.
