This outdoor movie screening season just gets better and better: just a few days after Brooklyn Bridge Park released their free film lineup, Rooftop Films has revealed its independent film summer screenings, which include the much-buzzed about Ken Burns documentary The Central Park Five, Nick Offerman-starring The Kings of Summer and Noah Baumbach film Frances Ha.

The series kicks off on May 10th with a selection of short films at the Open Road Rooftop on the Lower East Side, and Frances Ha will screen at the same venue the following night. Venues and dates haven't been set for the rest of the screenings, yet, but all 45 film titles have been released, and you can browse them on Rooftop Films' website; in addition to the aforementioned films, highlights include Chilean director Sebastian Silva's Crystal Fairy; Awful Nice, directed by Todd Sklar and starring Christopher Meloni; and Brooklyn-based filmmaker Joanna Arnow's i hate myself :). Pus, there'll be a free sneak preview of Twenty Feet from Stardom, a documentary diving into the lives of prominent backup singers, on June 8th, followed by a Q&A with the director and a performance by one of the singers featured in the film.

Expect live music before all screenings, in addition to Q&As and free afterparties; more details, including venue information and dates, will be released in the coming weeks.
