Jonathan Safran Foer is bringing his 2005 novel Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close to the big screen (just as he did with Everything Is Illuminated). His troupe of actors are currently scattered about DUMBO and Vinegar Hill, with their base camp seemingly surrounding Gothamist HQ (word has it they have even infiltrated our ground floor!). Those starring in the film include Sandra Bullock, John Goodman, Tom Hanks, and Tony Soprano.

Today they're filming around Water Street in DUMBO and according to OnLocationVacations, they'll also be at Smith and Luquer. If you don't want to be given the stink eye by any craft service people (we saw that earlier, guy) then avoid those areas. However, not all New Yorkers are disaffected by the celebrity culture—one local took to Twitter to declare: "Going on a celeb hunt at lunch time, whose coming with me? #dumbo #celebs"

So... is Safran Foer going to turn Eating Animals into a feature film next, or perhaps a documentary featuring factory farm visits?
