Remember Honey, the adorable Staffordshire terrier-pitt mix that Brooklyn-based Marine Eduardo Ortiz was trying to find a foster home for while he's temporarily deployed in Afghanistan? We have some good news from Ortiz: not only did he find a family last week to take Honey in, but that family has now started a Tumblr with regular updates on Honey and her new four-legged sister, Pearl.
The site, Keeping Up With Pearl And Honey, has regular updates from Honey's new owners, who are working to acclimate Honey to her new home and their other dog, Pearl (who looks like a French bulldog). The two have been tug-of-warring, wrestling, napping, going in for daycare at Unleash and taking training tips from Empire of the Dog.
There are some seriously aww-inducing videos and plenty of photos on the Tumblr, plus detailed notes on Honey's behavior:
"Let me just start by saying that I think both Pearl and Honey have made MAJOR progress in just a few days! Seems like their sisterly bond is starting to form. They’re now off the leashes, playing tug o war nicely, sharing the couch, we’re able to pet one without the other getting jealous and this morning I even gave them treats together and they both respected their space."
Ortiz is scheduled to return in May of 2012.
