Seeing as her previous job required her to sing in front of tens of thousands of people, it's a little surprising that former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham suffered stage fright on Sunday as she narrated her New York fashion week runway show for her Fall '11 collection. Then again, New York's fashion elite weren't exactly an audience of adoring fans. According to the Daily Beast, "There were muffled giggles, knowing glances, and plenty of eye-rolling" coming from a group major fashion magazine editors.
Beckham's countrymen valiantly came to her defense, with the Guardian listing her "cashmere pleated excellence" as one of the best collections today. But will Anna Wintour still want Beckham on her cover now that she's been laughed out of the tents?
At least she's got husband David by her side—the soccer player was in town for Valentine's Day, and allegedly "booked a candlelit dinner at a Manhattan restaurant for Monday and planning on whisking her off to Brooklyn Bridge—the inspiration for their eldest son's name."
