<br/>If you're mildly interested in film, TV or web content, you should go to at least one discussion with a creative, whether it's the director, production designer, star or producer. Because then you get to appreciate the amount of time and energy they put into making something lasting that you get to enjoy or--even better--you think about for a while.<br/><br/>Here are some of the talks that I'm interested in catching at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. If you go, they may even inspire you to look at what you're watching a little more carefully!
TRIBECA TALKS: INSIDE AMY SCHUMER: This is going to be Amy Schumer's year. She's starring in the new Judd Apatow movie, Trainwreck, and the third season of Inside Amy Schumer will air. Schumer will be on hand, after a sneak peek at the upcoming season, to discuss the show. Producers Dan Powell, Jessi Klein, Kevin Kane and Kim Caramele; director Ryan McFaul; and director of photography Jonathan Furmanski will also be in attendance. When: Sunday, April 19, 4:30 p.m.
GOODFELLAS: This might be the most coveted talk of the festival, because it involves Jon Stewart moderating a discussion about the festival's closing night film GoodFellas, with the cast and crew. While the panelists haven't been confirmed, I think it's safe to say that Martin Scorsese and Robert DeNiro will be there, and that's a pretty good showing already! My dream is that they discuss cutting garlic with a razor:When: Saturday, April 25, 7:30 p.m.
TRIBECA TALKS MASTER CLASS: GET THE LOOK: Say what you will about the recent adaptation of The Great Gatsby (or any Baz Luhrmann film), but the costumes and sets are always incredible and meticulous. That's thanks to Catherine Martin, who happens to be Luhrmann's wife. She'll be talking to Vogue's Hamish Bowles about creating the atmosphere for Gatsby, Moulin Rouge and more. When: Friday, April 17, 2:30 p.m.
TRIBECA TALKS: CHRISTOPHER NOLAN WITH BENNETT MILLER: The boundary-pushing director of Memento, Batman: The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar will have a conversation with Capote and Foxcatcher director Bennett Miller. Enough said! When: Monday, April 20, 6 p.m.

Rolling Stone editor Neil Strauss (he also co-wrote, with Motley Crue, one of the best band memoirs, The Dirt) will moderate/keep the peace. When: Sunday, April 19, 7 p.m.
AFTER THE MOVIE: CODE: DEBUGGING THE GENDER GAP: The documentary CODE asks where the hell are the women in technology. After the screening, director Robin Hauser Reynolds, Qualcomm Chief Learning Officer Tamar Elkeles, GoDaddy Chief People Officer Auguste Goldman, and Etsy Engineering Director Jason Wong will discuss how to encourage girls and women to become more involved in computer science, and what barriers they face. Here's a recent interview with Reynolds:When: Sunday, April 19, 1 p.m.
AFTER THE MOVIE: VERY SEMI-SERIOUS: The New Yorker nerds, rejoice! There's a documentary about the magazine's single panel cartoons and cartoon editor Bob "How About Never" Mankoff. Mankoff, director Leah Wolchok and others will discuss the film and perhaps would-be cartoon contributor Elaine Benes:When: Sunday, April 19, 1 p.m.
TRIBECA TALKS: CARY FUKUNAGA: While he won industry notice with Sin Nombre and Jane Eyre, director Cary Fukunaga broke into the public's consciousness by ushering in the McConnaissance with True Detective. Fukunaga will talk about his craft with writer-producer James Schamus. Schamus, a frequent Ang Lee collaborator, is the former CEO of Focus Features which released Sin Nombre:And did you realize that Fukunaga is directing an adaption of Stephen King's IT ?When: Thursday, April 23, 5 p.m.
