Literary super-couple Michael Chabon (The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, Wonder Boys) and wife Aeyelet Waldman (Bad Mother, Love and Other Impossible Pursuits) are teaming up to write a musical about the Dave Eggers-founded nonprofit 826 NYC/ Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company.

While 826NYC told us to expect an official announcement soon, The Observer spoke to Waldman, who said it will be called The Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company, will be directed by Michael Mayer (American Idiot, Spring Awakening), "up-and-coming musical talent" Peter Lerman will compose and Margo Lion and Amanda Lipitz will produce. 826NYC is a nonprofit creative writing center for youth (Eggers also founded a location in San Francisco) housed within the Park Slope Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company storefront, "your one-stop shop" for all superhero needs—think capes, grappling hooks, antimatter, and more.

Earlier this month, Chabon signed on to write the script for the new Disney movie Magic Kingdom, and him and Waldman are also working on an HBO pilot about a group of magicians who use their skills to battle Hitler.
