It goes without saying that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby will be the most important baby of all time. But does that mean they get to ruin everyone else's air travel plans? Because that's what happened yesterday, when an American Airlines employee apparently allowed them to bypass security screening.

2013_01_kimyejesus.jpgAccording to the Post, "The stars—who were running late for an American Airlines flight—were ushered around a security checkpoint before boarding the plane from New York to Los Angeles yesterday. But airport officials got wind of the special treatment and yanked them off the plane—giving them a private pat-down and delaying the flight by nearly an hour."

The pair had flown in from Rio de Janeiro and had gone through customs right before getting taken through the "back way." The TSA said, "The airline employee violated security protocols by permitting the travelers to bypass the TSA security checkpoint. TSA officials learned of the violation and conducted a private screening of the two passengers in the area of the jetway." American Airlines said in its own statement, "This was a lapse in judgment by one of our employees. We’re working closely with the TSA and speaking to the individuals involved to better understand what happened. The flight in question departed JFK an hour late. It was delayed in part because of this issue and in part because a number of connecting bags were late arriving to the aircraft."

Naturally, other travelers were annoyed. One told WCBS 2, "What if there’s a terrorist out there’s that’s famous and nobody knows about and they get off easy?" while another said, "Celebrities can be anything. They can be criminals, too."

But to be fair, Kimye was rushing to get back to LA for matters of grave importance: They had a very important Topshop opening to go to!
