Singer, actress, American Idol judge and Jenny from the Block Jennifer Lopez and salsa superstar Marc Anthony have announced their divorce after seven years of marriage. The couple released a statement to People magazine, "We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."
The couple, who have homes across the country, including in Long Island, have three-year-old twins, Emme and Max. This was Lopez's third marriage and Anthony's second marriage, and they got married in June 2004, months after she split with Ben Affleck (ending "Bennifer") and days after he finalized his divorce to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. Lopez, a Bronx native, and Anthony were also familiar sights at the Puerto Rican Day Parade, appearing repeatedly.
Lopez and Anthony also frequently collaborated together, from making films together to performing in concert. They also renewed their vows twice.
