In 2009 Alec Baldwin told Playboy that he'd be leaving 30 Rock at the end of his contract, saying, "I'm done in 2012. In March 2012 I’ll wake up and say, ‘What am I going to do now?' I may finish a play or something, but I'm retiring at the wrap party." Flash forward to last night, and the actor told Vulture that not only is he done next year, but the entire show will be ending. But... we need more time with Liz Lemon!
Baldwin told the site, "Our show next year is our last year of the show. Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great." Until she encounters her Ishtar? Perhaps not the best comparison.
