Realizing that many apartment-bound New Yorkers need something else to watch during their ninth Zoom meeting of the day, the Wildlife Conservation Society is launching livestreams from the Bronx Zoo and New York Aquarium.

There are three cameras set up at the Bronx Zoo: on the sea lion pool at Astor Court, where you can gaze upon sea lions being fed at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; the Aquatic Bird House, with feedings at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.; and the Madagascar! exhibit which may look empty, but then suddenly a ring-tailed lemur runs by!

Over at the New York Aquarium, you can watch sharks, rays, and hundreds of fish swimming around in the Sharks exhibit, or enjoy the slower moving creatures like a giant Pacific octopus, starfish, and other marine invertebrates that are part of the Spineless tank. I have spent 20 minutes watching the Spineless tank and I definitely saw the octopus move a tentacle once.

The Wildlife Conservation Society has also created an educational resources page, like offering teachers the chance to take their students on virtual tours of their zoos and at-home science projects for teachers and families (the page will be updated). The different zoos' and aquarium's social media accounts are also soothing:
