200801nyer.jpgThe New Yorker invites one and all to create a Eustace Tilley! The now iconic character first appeared in 1925 on the cover of the magazine's debut issue, and has returned every year for the anniversary.

He was originally drawn by Rea Irvin, the magazine’s first art editor, and since 1994 a series of contributing artists have been invited to reinterpret him. If you want to be next in line, check out the details here -- the mag will select up to 20 winning entries to be published on their website, commemorating the magazine’s 83rd anniversary.

The deadline is January 24th, and you will need to set up a free Flickr account. Hopefully the Flickr page will be open to public, we can't wait to see the entries!
