The Sly Stallone era (via LIFE)
Dolly Parton, who is turning a young 66-years-old this month, is suddenly everywhere—she's coming to the big screen on January 13th in A Joyful Noise with Queen Latifah, and after that she's going to bring her musical, which she's writing herself, to Broadway! But it's not her Broadway debut, as Parton also helped write songs for the 9 to 5 musical back in 2009.
SheWired reports that the musical will be based on her life story, "tracing her journey all the way from humble family beginnings in Tennessee, through decades of country music and worldwide super stardom." This budget allotment for breast enhancement inserts will likely be the largest in Broadway history!
The icon has been talking about it for a while now, and last year told WENN, "I'm writing my life story as a musical for Broadway. I probably won't be in it but I'll find a way to introduce it somehow, maybe the older me." Hopefully it will not include Miley Cyrus.
Stay tuned later this month for a list of ways to help celebrate Dolly's birthday right here in NYC! Does anyone want to have a Dolly party with us? For now, let's watch this classic Candid Camera, starring Dolly herself:
