Sure, we seemingly severed ties with the kings and queens of England way back in good old 1776, but what's a little revolution to stop us from celebrating the milestones of British royalty?
This weekend is Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, marking her 60th year on the throne, and folks across the pond will spend four days feting her reign with street parties, religious services, a boat flotilla on the Thames and an Elton John/Paul McCartney concert at Buckingham Palace. And there's no need to feel left out, fellow Yanks, because there's plenty of Anglophile fun to be had in the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. Here's a roundup of local spots breaking out the Brit this weekend:
Jones Wood Foundry: Starting tomorrow at 11 a.m., this U.E.S. Brit-style gastropub will host a daylong, cover-free Toast to the Queen, featuring traditional British food like Cornish pasties, live music, street performers and drink specials. There will also be a Jubilee Raffle, with proceeds benefiting the American-Scottish Foundation's charity program for children.
Sunday, June 3rd at 11 a.m., 401 East 76th St, 212-249-2700, joneswoodfoundry.com, free.
Tea and Sympathy: The West Village store and restaurant combo is selling Jubilee memorabilia like imported commemorative plates, teacups and party supplies all weekend, so you can stock up on Union Jack napkins if you need to wipe jam off your celebratory scones.

Fontana's: Swing by for this Chinatown club's monthly Brit-themed Feeling Gloomy dance party; tonight, they'll be marking the Queen's milestone by spinning tracks from her last Jubilee in 1977, with music by bands like the Clash, X-Ray Spex, the Sex Pistols and the Stranglers.

Thomas Pink: What better way to commemorate the Queen than with high tea and a new Winchester button down? On Tuesday, the Madison Ave Thomas Pink outpost will offer tea and a champagne toast from 1 to 5 p.m.; DJ Rumor will spin celebratory tracks, and the company will be offering free shipping from their online store all weekend.
